Hello, my name is Anh!
I recently became a Data School Consultant, and I want to use this post to share a bit about myself.
It's been a few months since I got my Bachelor's of Science degree. Ever since the end of high school, I've had a thing for computers, but I also wanted to do something creative. That led me to enroll in Media Informatics at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW).
At first, I was strongly interested in game design and development because I wanted to be able to develop games that I designed myself. The struggle was real when it came to deciding which programming language and development software to learn. I slowly drifted in another direction and ended up choosing web development in the final year of my studies. After that, I spent time teaching myself. All I could think about was HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and building projects.
I think the reason I chose web development wasn't much different from my interest in game development. I simply wanted to bring creative, static designs to life, make them interactive, and have them function exactly as they should. That gives me real joy!
After graduation, I was struggling a bit with my job search, so I visited many job fairs. How I came across The Data School was actually pretty random and lucky. I have to thank my mom for it because if she hadn't told me to go to that specific job fair, I would have never discovered The Information Lab and The Data School. I also wouldn't be here writing this post!
At first, I was just curious about the program and wanted to try my luck, but as I went through the application process, I developed a real interest in data analytics. I had so much fun working with Tableau and building my very first dashboards. Now that I'm finally part of The Data School, I'm even more excited to learn other tools besides Tableau and develop valuable soft skills as well.

P.S. Random facts about me: I like reading books and playing games on my computer or phone, such as Sudoku, RPGs, and Escape Room games.
